Systems Engineer

Consul-vation, Inc., has an exciting opening for a polished Network Systems Engineer with 4+ years of solid networking experience. This position is responsible for the implementation of solutions for new and existing clients and has incredible growth potential. It has the potential to lead to a Project Engineer role and ultimately to a trusted Consul-vation Consultant, our most senior position, responsible for nurturing new client partnerships, truly understanding their needs and vision, and designing and managing much more complex solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess a technology-related college degree or commensurate experience, as well as comprehensive, hands-on networking experience. The position requires 2nd and some 3rd level remote and on-site support, and mentoring more junior engineers.

  • Windows Server 2012 thru 2019
  • Active Directory management and tools
  • Desktop operating systems including Windows 10
  • TCP/IP and practical implementation in various sized networks
  • Network infrastructure devices such as switches, routers, firewalls, appliances, etc.
  • Security implementations for networks, Active Directory, servers, PCs and mobile devices
  • Storage and backup solutions
  • Email, collaboration, document sharing
  • Server centric applications
  • Productivity applications (i.e. Microsoft Office)
  • Exposure to cloud infrastructure (IaaS)
  • Heavy experience with hardware
  • Extensive hands-on experience providing end-user support
  • Some experience in Linux and Mac OS X

Applicants must have daily use of a car and possess a valid driver’s license and live within the NYC and LI boundaries for commuting purposes.

Network Engineer Apprenticeship

We currently have one opening for an Network Engineer Apprentice to join our growing team in an environment that rewards those who challenge themselves. This position provides exposure to diverse computer networking environments utilizing different platforms for various industries including travel, manufacturing, medical and professional services, for clients with offices in the US, Canada and India. This role offers motivated individuals the opportunity to develop hands-on experience in preparation for potential Help Desk, Systems Engineer, Project Engineer, and Consulting roles. The term of the apprenticeship is 3 months and offers the potential for advancement. Our team heavily invests our resources into the training of our apprentices and because of this we pay very close attention to how applicants represent themselves. The right applicant will demonstrate in their cover letter, resume and during their interview:

  • The ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written form to a technical and non-technical audience.

This apprenticeship is full time, 9:00AM to 5:00PM, Monday through Friday.

This position provides exposure to diverse computer networking environments utilizing different platforms for various industries including travel, manufacturing, medical and professional services, for clients with offices in the US, Canada and India. This role offers the motivated individual the opportunity to strengthen their hands-on experience in preparation for more advanced Help Desk, Systems Engineer, Project Engineer, and Consulting roles. This is a junior position with unlimited growth opportunities; however the applicant must be able to demonstrate a very strong foundational knowledge and competency of networking–scholastic achievements alone, while important, will not meet our requirements. As we prefer to promote from within, our team heavily invests our resources into the training of our junior members. We pay very close attention to how applicants represent themselves and eligibility depends on our observation of the following:
